So many games!

i Feb 5th by

So far this week has been a blast! We played True or False Candy Bingo, had a Connect 4 tournament, did some Cheffing-It-Up with Sandy, played Pictionary, and did a very fun sharing activity in the vein of Groundhog Day (the movie). We can’t wait for our movie night tonight!

Last night was Karaoke Night at the KYC! Not pictured: the group of teens cheering their peers on while they performed! It was such a fun night!

Art and more!

i Jan 27th by

Lots of art and creativity happens around here, using lots of different mediums! Painting on canvas, drawing on wood, and photography were all happening simultaneously last Thursday. Teens were focused and chatting quietly, while staff and volunteers stepped back and let them run with their interests. Later in the evening, we finished up a puzzle and then did some sharing inspired by prompts we drew out of a jar and ended with team building games! Oh, and we ate dinner of course! Grilled chicken with rice and broccoli. Yum!

Here’s what an afternoon at the KYC might look like…

i Jan 23rd by

Yesterday, an impromptu set of mini competitions cropped up, and it was so fun! We like to run with the interests of our teens, and yesterday’s group was feeling competitive and energetic! We competed in table tennis, shooting hoops, corn hole, and more, while some teens chose to pick away at a puzzle while watching the games unfold. We then enjoyed a meal of homemade chili and cornbread, then moved into Trivia Night! This is all a great example of what an afternoon and evening at the KYC looks like!

Campfire Night

i Jan 16th by

Indoor campfire night at the KYC! We moved all the fun of a campfire indoors for the night! As a “campfire” crackled away (on the tv), we played some of our favorite group games, did skits, and ended the evening roasting marshmallows and making s’mores!

Baking with Diane!

i Jan 16th by

Baking with Diane and Sandy is always a favorite activity around here! This week a small group made chocolate chip cookie pops! They were delicious and so fun to decorate. A few teens even made portraits of each other on cookies 😂

4-H Mask Making

i Jan 7th by

We had a great time with Karen from 4-H yesterday! She led us a through making a light-up mask using LED lights! Then we had a visit from Makers Mill, who told us all about their upcoming Upcycled Fashion Show! Who knows, maybe some of the masks made at the KYC will be seen on the catwalk in March! @makersmillnh

Last Night Wolfeboro!

i Jan 2nd by

We participated in Wolfeboro‘s Last Night programs on New Year’s Eve! We hosted a table at the Great Hall, offering games, resolution activities, and face painting and glitter tattoos. Then we enjoyed the many activities around town. We even cracked the code and escaped the robotics team’s Escape Room! We hope to see you all today after school and for a full week of afterschool programs next week!
