About the Kingswood Youth Center

Zachary TowerZachary Porter, MS has held various positions with the KYC since 2011; they currently serve as the Executive Director.  They also work for the Appalachian Mountain Club.  Their background includes leadership and supporting roles in non-profits, work with youth and children, and work as a chef.  Zachary has a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Studies with minors in History and Organizational Leadership, and Graduate Certificates in Leadership of Non-Profit Organizations and Human Resources Management, all from Southern New Hampshire University.  Zachary has also completed a professional development certificate program in Grantsmanship from UNH.  They are certified in  CPR, First Aid, and as a YMCA Life Guard.  Zachary is the Immediate Past President of the Rotary Club of Wolfeboro and is on the Club’s board of directors serving as the Sargent at Arms.  They are the Chair of the Rotary Club’s Christmas Tree Sale, High School Speech Contest, and Scholarship Committees.  Zachary is an Eagle Scout and serves as Cub Scout Pack 165’s Charter Organization Representative and a Merit Badge Counselor for Scout Troop 165.  They also sit on Granite United Way’s Community Impact Committee.  Zachary is a facilitator for NH Outright, where they help host groups for LGBTQIA+ youth.  They are an avid ‘peak-bagger’, having navigated to remote and trackless places around New England, in all seasons.  Zachary enjoys writing and hopes to one day get their hiking memoir published.  At the KYC Zachary particularly enjoys working with community partners, coaching teens in learning and practicing life skills, hiking, and spending time with members outdoors.  Zachary and their wife reside in Central New Hampshire.

Maggie Parke is joining us from Buffalo, New York – and spent a year and a half working in various NH mountain towns before settling at KYC. She brings a fascination with books, art, and outdoor recreation. Maggie has worked with afterschool programs and summer camps, as well as mentoring through Girls on the Run.

Her last nonprofit experience was volunteering with an inner city drop-in art studio. With a professional history ranging from mountain lodges to hospitals to the legal field, she loves a dynamic workplace (and this particular brand of vibrancy). Come ask her about mountaintop paintings, penpals in distant places, or just about anything!
