Youth Centers Unite!
We had such a great time visiting @pittsfieldyouthworkshop last week! We spent the afternoon playing pool, shooting hoops, tinkering with snap circuits and meeting new friends. Thank you Zach and Ashley and all the PYW teens for hosting us for such a fun afternoon!
Paintings for a Purpose Was Great!
Paintings for a Purpose was a huge success! Dr. Marc Bard with Meredith Village Savings Bank hosted an evening of art and we are so grateful to have been selected as one of the recipients of the proceeds from the evening and the sales throughout the month. KYC teens challenged themselves to stand up and share with a large group of community members “why I come to the KYC.” Their words were moving and insightful. We are beyond proud of being a part of this wonderful community of artists, businesses, and individuals who support our mission! @meredithvillagesavingsbank
19 Mile Beach Concert Series
Thursday night we enjoyed live music by SkyRoad at 19 Mile Beach! Tuftonboro Parks and Recreation invited the KYC to talk about our organization and lead a short game for the audience. KYC teens showed their leadership and care for the KYC by getting behind the microphone 
and asking trivia questions and announcing the winners. A hat was passed around to the audience, encouraging them to throw a few dollars toward the mission and WOW did people show their generosity and support!!!! The KYC serves the teens of seven different towns: Brookfield, Effingham, Middleton, New Durham, Ossipee, Tuftonboro, and Wolfeboro, and we love to see the support from all these different places!
Paintings for a Purpose
Kingswood Youth Center is thrilled to have been selected as a co-beneficiary for a wonderful opportunity, aptly named Paintings for a Purpose. Paintings for a Purpose was created by Dr. Marc Bard., who is now in retirement from his fulfilling career as a medical illustrator, practicing physician, author, health care executive, and national health care consultant.
Dr. Bard paints all year long, and uses his body of work as a fundraising opportunity for local non-profits. In collaboration with Dr. John Ingard, a digital photographer and retired practicing internist, an art show will be held to benefit the Kingwood Youth Center and End 68 Hours of Hunger, at Meredith Village Savings Bank in Wolfeboro. The reception will be on August 1st from 4pm-8pm.
This year’s ‘Paintings for a Purpose’ art show will be Dr. Bard’s 5th annual fundraiser. The 2023 event raised $10,000 for Meredith Food Pantry! The event has only become more robust over it’s years and we are excited to see the turnout for the opening art show!
This year there will not only be original artwork for sale, but prints, and notecards. Guests may also request commissioned art and even special order prints. Check out the Paintings for a Purpose website
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Seacoast Repertory Theater
What an outing! We took a full bus of teens to see the musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat last week at Seacoast Repertory Theater in Portsmouth! It was SO fun… and VERY colorful!
4th of July at the KYC!
Our 4th of July Celebration on the 3rd was so fun all around! We played games, had a campfire, and dressed in celebratory outfits!
A Visit to Squam Lake Science Center
We took a great group to Squam Lake Science Center last week. It was perfect weather for a day of walking and exploring! We ended the program with a swim (as we often do in the summer!). @nhnature
FUNSPOT!
Our summer programs started last week with a huge group spending an evening at Funspot! Games, pizza, friends, goofy prizes… it was the perfect beginning to a full schedule of summer programs! GWRSD students entering 7th grade this fall, through 12th grade, are welcome to attend! All of our programs are COMPLETELY FREE! Email us at

An Appreciation Post…
We’ve already enjoyed so many evenings around our fire pit- designed and built by KYC teen and now Eagle Scout Ryan Osgood! He made this for his Eagle Scout project. He made the patio, fire ring, and benches! It’s been the perfect addition to our outdoor space. We have amazing teens here at the KYC and it’s wonderful to see where they go with their talents and interests. If we can help them reach for their goals, and support them along the way, we are honored!
