A Classic Summer Program!
A visit to Abenaki Tower, the Libby Museum (where staff posed for their annual photos in front of the animals that represent their home states), and a dip in Lake Winnipesaukee was a perfect summer program!
NEWSIES the Musical!
We had an absolute blast taking 15 teens to see Newsies in Portsmouth @theseacoastrep ! Parent and volunteer @karenciggyc coordinated this new-to-the-kyc outing! We had so much fun that we are already planning our next outing to see (fingers crossed) Footloose!
2022-2023 End of Year Celebration
Our end-of-year celebration at the KYC was so fun and special this year! We thanked each of our volunteers, our supporters, and our teens! We played games, ate delicious food, and enjoyed specials desserts. Thanks to all who made this school year a great success!
Visits to Albee Beach
We love our visits to Albee Beach and are so happy to be having some nice beach days! Albee beach is only a 1 mile bike ride/walk from the KYC. We are so lucky to have this opportunity right next door! @wolfeboroparksandrecreation
Career Exploration with Piscataqua Landscaping
A huge thank you to @piscataqualandscaping in Wolfeboro for hosting the KYC for a Career Exploration field trip! We planted flower boxes to be used to decorate their office building (how trusting of them! 
). We also learned about the field of landscaping and what a huge scope of talents and skills are used in this line of work. What a great day!
Collaborative Artwork!
We are thrilled to be embarking on a collaborative, community art project! With a grant from @governorwentworthartscouncil we are working on a multi-panel piece of artwork, focusing on nature and sustainability. Jeanne Snowden, who is the youth and children’s librarian @wolfeboro.public.library, an artist, and former art teacher, is guiding our teens to create a cohesive piece of work. Our teens have led the way, however, from initial conversations about the theme of the work, the sketches, and the next step, painting. Other teens took a trip to @makersmillnh to build the panels, which are lightweight enough to be moved around our community, in order to share our art! We can’t wait to share the finished artwork with you here on social media, and out and about in the community!
What We have Been Up To!
Our teens have been up to some really cool things lately! One teen built a wooden book, and learned a lot about woodworking in the process. A big group learned about energy efficiency. Others have been puzzling and decorating furniture!
Disk Golf with Pittsfield Youth Workshop
Just like last year, over April vacation we got together with the Pittsfield Youth Workshop to play disc golf! It was a perfect day! We ended the day having pizza and chilling with PYW at their youth center! So fun! @pittsfieldyouthworkshop
Earth Day at Abenaki Tower
The KYC celebrated Earth Day by joining the Abenaki Tower and Trail Association to work on beautifying the magnificent Abenaki Tower in Tuftonboro! We hammered, painted, scrubbed, cleaned and more! We had a great day giving back. @abenakitower
More Leadership with Lorraine!
Lorraine from @peersnotfears led us through a few hands on activities where we learned about the power of our words, empathy, and kindness. We won’t give anything away in case you get the opportunity to work with Lorraine, but it was eye opening!
