Yesterday we hosted a ‘Camp Fire’ BTAS! program.
We started with some ‘camp fire trivia.’ Camp fire vocab: tinder-the dry, quick burning materials used to get the fire going (i.e. paper, birch bark, dryer line, etc.); kindling: small twigs or pieces of wood used to increase the fire’s size and heat, as the tinder burns off; Fuel the larger logs that keep the fire going and provide long-term heat and light. The three things a fire needs to sustain: heat, oxygen, fuel. The three types of camp fires: log-cabin-great for cooking, teepee-great for light, lean-to-good as a heat source.
We enjoyed a hot dinner around our fire.
The weather was perfect!
Our Gaga Pit went up too!
Just after dusk we presented skits!
What a fun fall BTAS! program. Thanks to all who participated.
