Our summer programs started last week with a huge group spending an evening at Funspot! Games, pizza, friends, goofy prizes… it was the perfect beginning to a full schedule of summer programs! GWRSD students entering 7th grade this fall, through 12th grade, are welcome to attend! All of our programs are COMPLETELY FREE! Email us at

An Appreciation Post…
We’ve already enjoyed so many evenings around our fire pit- designed and built by KYC teen and now Eagle Scout Ryan Osgood! He made this for his Eagle Scout project. He made the patio, fire ring, and benches! It’s been the perfect addition to our outdoor space. We have amazing teens here at the KYC and it’s wonderful to see where they go with their talents and interests. If we can help them reach for their goals, and support them along the way, we are honored!
Celebrating a Great School Year!
For our last day of the 23/24 school year programs we had a Founder’s Feast! We collaborated with Wolfeboro Rotary Club, who founded the KYC, and enjoyed a cookout with tons of food, a celebration, and a campfire with s’mores and games! Summer programs kick off THIS WEDNESDAY! We can’t wait!
Michaela Poliquin Award for Education
We are honored to have awarded the second annual Michaela Poliquin Award for Education to Austin Gibbs! At KRHS scholarship night, Austin was surprised by being selected as the recipient for this very special award. Kayla Poliquin was a long time KYC member, who passed away in 2023 due to health complications. We have all been broken hearted at this loss, as she was so near and dear to so many of us at the KYC. We are delighted to honor her memory by creating an annual award in her name. Congratulations Austin, we know you are destined for a life full of joy, friendship, and connection- all of the same things Michaela brought to those around her.
NAMI NH’s Magnify Voices at New England College
KYC recently attended NAMI NH’s statewide Magnify Voices Expressive Arts event. Three KYC teens submitted artwork around the theme of mental health. One of KYC‘s teens was selected as a finalist. During the event, we all viewed the art show, took a tour of New England College in Henniker, enjoyed dinner together, and celebrated everyone who participated in this event. We are so proud of all of our teens who take these types of opportunities and put themselves out there. It truly does pay off! @magnifyvoicesnh
We Will Remember at the KYC
It was an honor to participate in the @wewillrememberdogtag mission last week. The KYC learned about 15 year old Connor’s mission to not forget any fallen soldier. KYC teens who wanted to participate, took a dog tag with the name of a fallen U.S service member, their rank, the war they fought, and their home town. People who take on the responsibility of owning a tag are asked to remember, honor, and speak the name regularly of the fallen soldier. This Hampton NH based non-profit is remarkable- learn more about it here! @wewillrememberdogtag
KYC’s 3rd Annual Prom!
Our 3rd annual mini prom was a smashing success! Dancing, appetizers, a banquet dinner, beautiful desserts made by teens, and we crowned the third ever Prom Protege, based off of wonderful speeches given by teens about how to have a positive future. We are so proud and in awe of our awesome teens! Thanks for making the night so special!
Art for All with Governor Wentworth Arts Council
The KYC attended @governorwentworthartscouncil Art for All exhibits yesterday! We started at Huggins Hospital to view Beloved; A Portraiture Group Show, with work by Kristiina Sakai, Gabriela Six, Nancy Sabino, and Cheryl Shanahan. Cheryl spoke with the group about her art and answered some thoughtful questions from teens. Next we moved over to @meredithvillagesavingsbank in Wolfeboro, to see the exhibit “More than the Sum of its Parts” by Robert De Mario. We learned about the artist’s process and participate in another Q and A. A huge thank you to @governorwentworthartscouncil for this experience and we are looking forward to continuing to participate in Art for All!
Global Art for Peace Project and Governor Wentworth Arts Council
We’ve been working so hard on a beautiful piece of art that we will be sending to New Delhi, India, through the Global Art for Peace project. We have participated in this opportunity for over a decade, and this year’s project has been funded by a grant from @governorwentworthartscouncil
Carroll County Veterans Coalition Conference
Congratulations to the winner of the Carroll County Veterans Coalition essay contest! Caleb Gibbs wrote a moving poem about the freedoms he has thanks to our veterans.
