Rotary Club’s Speech Contest Winner!
We are beyond proud of these two KYC members! They both participated in the Rotary Club’s district wide speech contest where they were challenged to present a five minute speech, answering the question “How can your school partner with Rotary to change lives?” First place was awarded to Skylar and second place to Elizabeth! Congrats you two!
Perspectives On Prevention; Police Officer!
Last week the speaker for our Perspectives on Prevention series was Officer Devine. Officer Devine is the school resource officer for the GWRSD schools in Wolfeboro. She was incredibly Informative, fun, and engaging. We appreciate you taking the time to talk to the KYC about YOUR perspective on substance misuse prevention, Officer Devine!
Life Skills- Mock Job Interviews!
Mock job interviews! Our teens blew us away with how well they did during our life skills program yesterday! They were given a lot of flexibility in their skits and they SHINED! Keep on the lookout, local businesses, there are a lot of KYC’ers who you’ll want to hire soon!
Valentine’s Day!
We noticed that Mara and one of our KYC teens accidentally matched yesterday! 
We had to snap a pic! And we finished up a very cool project during Science with Shelly! We repurposed bath towels and made a bath mat! And of course we had a great time celebrating Valentine’s Day! We had a sharing session about what makes a good friend, and also shared appreciation for someone in our life. 
Career Exploration!
We went on such a great field trip yesterday! Mr. Sullivan, who teaches Collision Technology at Lakes Region Technology Center, was kind enough to let us tour and learn the ins and outs of what Collision Technology is all about! Our Career Exploration field trip ended with us making a collaborative piece of art using only spray paint and paint can lids! Custom paint jobs are a big part of the industry and KYC teens were lucky enough to try it out. Thank you The Lakes Region Technology Center for the wonderful experience!
Career Exploration with Garwoods!
A huge thank you to Garwoods Restaurant & Pub in Wolfeboro for hosting a Career Exploration field trip for the Kingswood Youth Center! Gordon and his staff were so gracious and very generous with their time (and food and drinks!) and we appreciate the opportunity!
It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like… Halloween!
Yesterday, our KYC members helped out around the KYC, went to Foss Field to play tennis, and then had fun dressing up in Halloween costumes and decorating the KYC!
After School Fun!
We have been enjoying our newly paved parking lot! Last week week one of our programs was PARKING LOT BONANAZA! We played a ton of the old classics! It was so fun and we are very excited to have this new asset!
A Visit to the Wright Museum
A big thanks to the @wrightmuseumofwwii here in Wolfeboro for hosting the KYC! We got to tour this amazing museum, which was so fun, interesting, and educational!
