The Kingswood Youth Center is a nonprofit 501(c)3 community based organization that would not exist without its volunteers. By just being at the Center, volunteers are role models for the members and give them opportunities to form healthy, trusting relationships with adults. In addition, volunteers help maintain a safe environment and culture at the Center so all teens, no matter what their age, educational background, income level, physical characteristics or personal views, will feel as welcome and comfortable as possible.

Vounteers interact with the teens during scheduled and spontaneous activities such as sports (basketball, football, volleyball), art projects, music, recreation (foosball, ping pong), cooking, special program presentations, etc.

Types of Volunteers:

  • A regular volunteer commits to a specific day of the week or month during the after school programming hours of 2:30 PM to 4:45 PM.
  • An on-call volunteer works on special projects as needed or is willing to substitute at the last minute for a volunteer who must be absent for some reason during the after school programming hours of 2:30 to 4:45 PM.
  • A program volunteer shares a hobby, activity or presentation with the members one or more times during the year.
