We had a busy day in our summer programs yesterday! We started with a great morning bike ride on the Cotton Valley Rail Trail. Then we paid a visit to the Rotary Club of Wolfeboro’s Meeting. After a few Fundraising stops, we hit the beach!
We are so lucky that the 12-mi Cotton Valley Rail Trail abuts the KYC’s property! This multi-use trail is great for biking, walking, jogging, and winter activities. The KYC takes advantage of the trail all year long. Yesterday, we started our day of programs with a morning bike ride on the trail. We departed the Center, crossed the Fernald Brook, and proceeded beyond the route 109 crossing. Following a great ride, we returned to the KYC for a cookout!
After lunch we visited the bi-weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Wolfeboro. The KYC was founded by Wolfeboro Rotary almost 20 years ago. KYC members, staff and volunteers thanked the Rotary for founding and continually supporting the KYC. The 10 year anniversary of our move to the Center Street location (October 2019) and the 20 year anniversary of the KYC (May 2020) are coming up! We look forward to involving Rotary in the celebration! We are very excited that the Rotary may get in on the competition in this year’s Chili Challenge Fundraiser! Rotarians posed some great questions to our youth, which the teens did a great job addressing!
Next we had a few stops related to our 10th Annual Chili Challenge Fundraiser which is scheduled for Saturday September 14, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at the Durgin Stables Green in Wolfeboro. Thank you to the many organizations who have sponsored us so far! We are still looking for community sponsors!
Finally, we hit the beach! What a great day to enjoy Albee Beach!
