Community Connections: KYC Students and the Wolfeboro Inn

Going to the Wolfeboro Inn  is one of the kids’ favorite KYC programs. Thanks to the generosity of the Wolfe’s Tavern staff and cooking team, KYC kids have been able to get a first perspective on what delicious food is all about. This time around, the kids made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches from scratch, wrapped up the leftovers to bring home to their friends and families, and were treated to a homemade pizza from the Tavern team!

Helping to continue building the relationship between teenagers and community members is one of the goals the KYC hopes to achieve through the after school program. It also exposes the kids to different ideas about who they are and the future they are capable of. Many of the students who participate in this regular program have a strong interest in working within the hospitality and food industries. What better way to encourage them than by offering hands on experience through a local partner?

The KYC is grateful to have this relationship with the Wolfe’s Tavern, and would like to especially thank Hoke Wilson, the Executive Chef, for hosting us and helping the Wolfeboro community get closer!

The KYC is always looking for new volunteers and community partnerships to ignite our teen’s curiosity and help them foster a stronger sense of self. Do you own a business you’d like the kids to visit, have a special talent, or love spending time with teenagers? Come volunteer with us during the after school hours! One of the most important things we can give our youth is a positive role model who truly cares about them. For more information about KYC and volunteering call us at 569-5949
