Lakeside Living!

We had a phenomenal evening on Crescent Lake, thanks to Dave and Diane, who hosted us at their beach! We swam and kayaked, ate a family-style meal together, and enjoyed a campfire with ukulele and singing and LOTS of laughs. What a beautiful evening with great friends.

An Week of Live Shows!

We had so much fun during our week of LIVE shows! We attended “An Evening of Broadway,” at the Colonial Theater, thanks to @childrensauction603 . Then the next day we saw @interlakes_summer_theatre ‘s production of Footloose. The following day we spent the evening at 19 Mile Bay and saw @carolynramsaymusic perform! We roasted s’mores and enjoyed lots of other treats, plus swimming. It was quite the week of performances and fun!

Egg Drop/ Defend the Egg!

Egg Drop/ Defend the Egg! We love this program and run it a few times a year! We spend time creating and inventing ways to keep an egg safe when we drop it from Abenaki Tower. Will YOURS survive? Only one teams’ didn’t this time!

2022 Granite United Way Advocate Award

We presented the 2022 ADVOCATE Award to the Kingswood Youth Center in Wolfeboro, NH for their commitment to improving the lives of children and families, and their long-time agency partnership and collaboration in the Central Region. Thank you, Kingswood Youth Center, for all you do for our community!

Swimming with Chucky Rosa of Chucky’s Fight

Once again, the KYC swam with Chucky Rosa on the Seacoast in the name of prevention. Chucky tragically lost two of his sons in less than one year to substances, and he sprinkled their ashes in the ocean. So now, every single day of the year, Chucky swims “with” them and brings attention to the issue of substance abuse. He and his wife run a non-profit organization called Chucky’s Fight, where they raise money to help get people into treatment. We were lucky enough to get to spend the day with them and participate in this special tradition.

New Durham Adventure!

New Durham Adventure! We toured Powder Mill Fish Hatchery last week with a big group of teens. Our tour guide, EJ, was so knowledgeable and passionate about what he does. Then, we were treated to ice cream and ended with swimming at New Durham town beach. We were warned the weather would be bad that day, but guess what? It cleared up the minute we headed outside and ended up being a great day. We are surrounded by beautiful landscapes, interesting people, and kind souls… you just gotta put yourself out there, even on rainy days! You never know what could happen!

An Evening on the Lake

We had the best evening last week enjoying the lake with friends of the KYC! KYC board president and his family opened up their home and beach for us to swim, paddleboard, kayak, float, splash, and jump! And eat! LOTS of eating! They cooked up a huge dinner with plenty of desserts to satisfy a big group of hungry teens! We had the best time and are so lucky to get these kinds of experiences!
